Casa de Papel (Money Heist) is an awesome show in Spanish
Main Post:
I have always dreamt of being fluent in Spanish, but am much to busy to do much of anything that I’m passionate about. I know minimal Spanish and only follow this sub out of hope that one day I’ll have the time and motivation. Anyway, I found a way to learn some Spanish and be captivated simultaneously. A Netflix original Casa de Papel (known as Money Heist in English version) is awesome and so intricately written and acted. I recommend to anyone trying to integrate Spanish into their free time. 10/10 do recommend.
Top Comment: I relate to every word of your post (I'm also way too busy for hobbies/passions outside of work and other commitments so my progress is very slow). This show is really great! I just think the English name Money Heist is stupid. A direct translation to House of Paper would have bee a lot better. Who cares though. I'd also hiiiiighly recommend ELITE. I'm particularly interested in Castillian Spanish so I'm really glad both these shows exist and are so good.
The Moderately Awesome Guide to Making Money in GW2 - Part 2 - Arbitrage
Main Post:
Arbitrage is often referred to as “flipping”. It is the act of buying an item cheaply, then immediately selling it at a higher price. It is a source of potentially unlimited income, at the cost of being potentially time-consuming. The challenge is finding good markets and spending the time to exploit them effectively.
Basics
Each item sold on the trading post incurs a 15% fee. To make a profit through flipping, you need to buy an item for less than 85% of the price you will sell it for.
An ideal market for flipping has the following properties:
- Large gap between buy order and sell order price
- Large volume
- More demand (buy orders) than supply (sell orders)
Finding markets
I’ve found profitable markets in the following categories:
- Equipment at a level where a new rarity is introduced. For example, masterwork equipment first appears at level 14 and rare equipment first appears at level 35. Players often upgrade at these levels to get the extra stats afforded by higher rarity.
- Intermediate crafting components. These are the components that are created from base crafting components, and can be used to create end-products. For example: insignias, sauces, and hooks/chains/bands/settings. Lazy crafters and power-levelers will buy these at a premium rather than spend time making them.
- Pick a random category from the trading post dropdowns and start checking items. When you find items with profit potential, look for patterns that can lead you to other profitable items.
- Use your own experience to predict what markets will be profitable. What do you spend money on? When do you spend in a hurry? When are you most willing to pay higher prices to get an item quickly?
- Read blogs, forums, etc. - see the links at the bottom of this post.
Buying and Selling
Click on the item. Then click “place custom offer”. Compare the existing buy order listings in the table to the value in the price column at the top of the page. The difference between these values is your expected net gain. Net gain – (15% of sell price) = expected profit.
Typically, you’ll place buy orders for 1c more than the highest existing one. For high-volume items, you can match the highest price. Don’t buy too many of an item you haven’t tried before. Instead, buy a few and see how well they sell. If successful, you can buy more the next time.
Next, you’ll have to wait for your buy orders to be filled. In general, it’s best to place a bunch of buy orders, then log off or do something else. Come back later, when a bunch have been fulfilled.
Finally, get your winnings from the trading post and re-list them. Place sell orders for 1c less than the existing ones. Go do something else and wait for them to sell.
Notes:
- Occasionally there will be one or a few outliers in the buy or sell orders. It’s often best to ignore these. For example, there are 2 sell orders at 17c, 1000 orders at 25c, and thousands at each increment above 25c. In this case, you can probably place your orders at 24c and be confident that they’ll be bought – and your profit is increased.
- Buy orders should generally not be left up for more than a day. Prices will shift – and you’ll either pay more than you needed to, or you’ll simply not get any sellers and your money will sit, unprofitable. There is no penalty for cancelling a buy order.
- Be more patient with sell orders. A 5% selling fee is deducted up-front, and that money will be wasted if you cancel the order. However, pay attention to items that take a long time to sell. It’s usually more profitable to flip low-profit items that get purchased quickly than flipping high-profit items that sell very slowly.
- You can adjust the Unit Price values on the trading post by hovering over them and mouse wheel scrolling. When placing lots of orders, this simple trick saves a ridiculous amount of time.

There are several blogs that post tips on good markets. These are worth reading and keeping up with. However, it’s important to realize that these blogs have a large readership and any markets they reveal will be instantly swamped. You can certainly try to play those markets, but it’s more useful to try and look for profitable similar markets.

Making kids spend hundreds of dollars on robux to fund their addiction to this game, then handing that money right back to the developer so he can turn around and ban people for exploiting, despite the fact that it never happened. It truly is a great game, isn't it.
